Simply, efective & Free!!!
I could have used clamwin as my primary snti-virus solution if only it had on access scanner. BEing free and more importantly open source it is a terrific product. But alas without resident protection the best it can do is to be a secondary scanner.
Only two good things: it's free and portable.
Did not like and could not trust.
While it´s (currently) no replacement for a decent on-access scanner (as ClamWin doesn´t support this) it´s perfect for a secondary detector: occasionally run it to verify that indeed no infection has filtered through your defences.
nice program, simple to use.
It's open source. It does what it says it does, and it does it damn nicely I must add. Version 0.93 is much faster then its predecessors. 'Nuff said!
I've had to ditch every other anti-virus tool I've ever had (including Norton and McAfee) because they don't play nice with Visual Studio. I've never had a problem with Clam Win. My one gripe is that it seems to make Outlook lag.
An absolute must have in my opinion. As the old idea recommends, you sometimes want a second opinion, and this isn't a bad way to get it when it comes to Anti-Virus tools.

Great Free Antivirus program for windows. Doesn't require you to register for anything or to give out your email address. Lite on resources too!
