Combustion is a little hard to learn, at first... If you get good it rocks for many visual effects affects. Shake is amazing but very hard to learn. I highly recommend using Combustion as a stepping stone to node based compositing. Hope autodesk will give us an C*5
AE might have its advantages, but Combustion is unmatched in that incredible discreet workflow.
