"The best damned free internet security suite period."
Its a great suite, but still has some kinks to work out in the next
version. Update balloon tips sometimes do not disable, and you have to close
several balloon tips telling you that the suite has been updated (from several
days of updates). The settings are a little confusing, and the firewall
allowance is tough as well. Defense+ is a great tool but can be VERY annoying.
All complaints aside, the suite does its JOB, and for free. It is very much
worth its price, and then some.
Integrated solution of Anti-virus and Firewall that works the way it should.
The firewall is great and have all the options I need, including port settings
and extensive event log. The virus database receives regular updates and is
pretty extensive. Although it catches a good number of false positives, it's
overall pretty reliable and can't be toped up by famous programs like AVG or
Avast!.
I've been working with Comodo solutions for almost two years now and I can
definitely say I'm satisfied with this software. Other Anti-virus programs gave
me enough reasons to not trust them (AVG, Avast!, and even the payed and
oh-so-loved NOD32), while Comodo AV always protected me.
Using this program for about 6 months and I really like it:) For the FREE
antivirus+firewall it is awesome! Silent, fast and even when it is scanning for
viruses or other malware, it doesn't slow down my computer.
I use Comodo Internet Security which has anti-virus and Defense+ as well as
the firewall. It is an excellent firewall which is easy to use for beginners and
also has lots of features and is configurable for more advanced users. The
Defense+ feature allows you to control the behavior of applications, as well as
see, to some extent, what certain programs are trying to access.
The firewall is excellent. It allows control of incoming and outgoing
connections, and can be configured to allow (or block) certain ports, certain
IPs or IP ranges, MAC addresses and others. It also has a purge feature to
forget rules for applications that have been since uninstalled.
The anti-virus is also good and has a real time scanner as well as the
ability to schedule scans.
The pop-ups for Defense+ and the firewall can get annoying, especially after
first install but this can be eased by putting it in training mode if you know
that your computer is clean from malware when you install the software.
This product recently got good ratings in Matousec firewall challenge (http://www.matousec.com/projects/firewall-challenge). I am
wondering if the good ratings are because the company bundled an anti-virus into
the product which was originally only a firewall.
I already use AntiVir as my system's antivirus, and am too staisfied of it to
uninstall it. Is the firewall part of comodo (without the antivirus) better than
Outpost firewall?
