The 187th most popular system tool on Windows
“The desktop search engine, Copernic, does for the PC what Google does for the web, and with the same astonishing speed. No matter how big the hard drive, just type in a keyword or two and you can track down pretty much anything, even ancient emails. Copernic works by creating an index of everything on the hard drive. This index is created and updated whenever the computer is idle, and so has no effect on the machine's performance. The result is a lightning-fast search engine that needs few clues to track down the most vaguely remembered document or an old email address. There are other desktop search engines, but Copernic is the one hoovering up the plaudits and industry awards. That is not unrelated to how much it costs: absolutely nothing.”… More Edit

The lamiest thing you could ever imagine about desktop search. It doesn't have a quickly emergent search bar but it does have lotsa ads in its main window (it actually covers more screen than search results part — and while the latter can be minimized, the first can be not) and the worst search Algorythm from Hell™. For example, if you search for a file with 'windows' in it, you will get as results all files that have 'windows'... in the path to their location. Bravo. Sign my Uninstall button, please.
i have nearly 1 TB of data so i cant live without it :)
I tried as alternative to the AvaFind. But no success, AF blows this out of the water.
Use AvaFind and believe me, after you switched you'll thank me!
Started annoying me in the end, was just looking for something to replace the inbuilt vista search without "taking-over" so much.
use this everyday
Can't live without it.
The best desktop search i know! Great! :)
Good Desktop Search utility. Much better than Google's and Microsoft's ones. You can easily manage/deactivate automatic indexing processes if not needed. You can also add new file types to index and open main applications (OE,Word etc) by one click on index page. Index can even be organized in separate areas (email, docs, generic files, etc)
I have mixed results with Copernic Desktop Search. On some systems, it works very well with no problems at all. On other systems, it sometimes starts looping and takes up 100% CPU.
Better than other desktop search engines in terms of flexibility.
I have tried X1, Yahoo, Google, Windows Desktop Search and Copernic, and it terms of ease-of-use and reliability, Copernic truly stands out! You have a separate window to see your results in (not a browser like Google), and filtering those results can be very useful to narrow down your search. Copernic's indexing speed is slower than X1, but that doesn't bother me since it does that when you're not using your computer. The only problem is that it's index can get humongous (several GB) if you have tens of thousands of documents in your computer like I do. Otherwise, this is the best desktop search for Windows amongst both freeware and shareware!
More integrated and useful than Google Desktop Search, and way less buggy than Windows most recent desktop search (which can be a memory hog also), Copernic is very solid and stays out of the way.
