  Problem with carriage returns can be solved by clicking on the Options icon, selecting View/Edit, and ticking 'Use system settings for view/edit'

  Works pretty well, looks and operates in a similar way to SmartFTP. Problem with downloaded files as it seems to have difficulty with carriage returns.

  Core FTP is a pretty solid free FTP program. It doesn't do anything special, but it works.
