The 5th most popular word processor on Windows
Corel WordPerfect is a proprietary word processing application. At the height of its popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was the de facto standard word processor, but has since been eclipsed in sales by Microsoft Word. Edit

I used earlier versions of Word Perfect for years at work. it is fine. it has all the features you would expect. a word processor nowadays must be able to work with all sorts of formats, and this version certainly does. if you don't like Microsoft, or find OpenOffice counter-intuitive, Word Perfect will fill your needs. I switch between Word and OO for more complex writing jobs, but I still like Jarte for simple writing chores.
It came with my computer instead of Microsoft Word, so it's my only choice for word processors. I have to say though, it's not too bad.
During the past year I messed around writing in MS Word 2003/2007 and OO 3 to no avail. I went an re-installed Wordperfect and converted all of my documents into WP. The other two programs just are not as intuitive as WP.
Still my favorite since version 4.0.
