I have been using FileZilla for a long time mainly because we use it at work
and I am familiar with it. However, a friend introduced me to Cyberduck and I am
overly impressed with how quick and easy it is to use. Without knocking
FileZilla more than 50% of my FTP'ing activity is just the odd couple of files
here and there and Cyberduck allows me to do this so much faster.
My favourite FTP/SFTP client ever.
Besides having a great price point, it's seamless integration with
TextMate and synchronisation issues have made life a lot easier on me.
I just wish it would quack at the end of a up/download :p
To the other reviewers who were putting Cyberduck down, as compared to their
commercial alternatives: Cyberduck is free, you can't expect that a free program
is going to be better than something that has full time developers working on
it.
So, with that in mind, Cyberduck is the best free FTP I've used on the Mac.
The UI is very straight forward, easy to grasp (no need to look in FAQs or
forums to see how things work).
Maybe not the fastest and not the best one to handle multiple FTP connections
(Transmit does a pretty good job on this from what I've seen), but its interface
is simply perfect for an everyday use. It works just like the Finder, and makes
it very easy to preview files, browse your server or reorganize everything
quickly with cut/paste/drag/drop. Plus it's free/donationware and is often
updated ! Transmit is good but expensive. Filezilla is too weird to use on
OSX.
The best FTP program I've ever used has been CuteFTP Pro for Windows, and
nothing comes close. This program sucks for changing permissions and
multitasking FTP connections. Very slow for processing, uploading, downloading.
I've yet to find anything good for FTP'ing in OS X.

best free ftp-client for Mac
As FTP clients go, by far the best and easiest I've used
Best free FTP client for Mac
For a FREE ftp client, the minor bugs I've encountered are very forgivable. This is a solid client.
overall good application, not without some limitations due to its java based code or something, but still the best free FTP client on Macs

Great look to this app. With the ability to save all your ftp locations and simply drag and drop files you can't go wrong.

FAIL FAIL FAIL, go to Transmit!
This might be the easiest FTP client I ever used and it's free. Too bad there's no Windows version.
efficent and pretty to look at
