Dashboard is an application for Apple's Mac OS X operating system, used for hosting mini-applications known as widgets. It is a semi-transparent layer that is invisible to the user unless activated by a hotkey, which can be set to the user's preference.
When Dashboard is activated, the user's desktop is dimmed and widgets fade into the foreground. Like application windows, they can be moved around, rearranged, deleted, and recreated (so that more than one of the same Widget is open at the same time, possibly with different settings).

cant live without my dashboard
lol you guys, Dashboard is a default feature packaged with OS X...
Maybe it's related to iScrobbler's "enable album artwork" preference? I can't find it in my Activity Monitor process listings.
I don't remember installing this, either. It's certainly not running overtly in my Dashboard.
This is a widget which automatically finds and adds album art to the currently selected tracks(s) in iTunes. I use it every time I add music to iTunes.
What is this app? I didn't install it!
