Very helpful to disable battery charging and save battery life, among other functions like volume control, brightness, media controls , wifi switch, external display on/off - Dell 1555 i.e - Studio. Lovin it.
All I can say is it's very useful. Without it I would have to go down to the system tray and adjust the volume manually.

I use it so I can see the volume control on the screen when I press the volume buttons on the front of the laptop.

I have it on my Dell laptop. As it was said before, quickset have an ability to crash apps, simple design, but useful - for example for its network card auto-disabling feature.

Butt ugly, and can crash games, but works properly when used correctly. Comes with Dell products. Nothing really exciting about it...

Well...it has a handy volume bar that shows up when I use the buttons on the front of my Dell Insprion E1705. But nothing else that isn't part of the OS.
