DA has one of the most active communities of any art site, which says a lot
about how good it is. The feature set is extensive, and offers a lot of
power.
However, if (like me) you're only there to browse, the frustrations set in
quick - lots of the features are locked without a paid account, and there are
adverts everywhere (including lots of items that inform you of the limitations
if you click them) and if you're not willing to pay, this puts you off pretty
quickly - hence the low interface and price/value scores.
