The 29th most popular document viewer on Windows

Adobe Digital Editions is a freeware program from Adobe Systems built using Adobe Flash. It is used for acquiring, managing and reading eBooks, digital newspapers, and other digital publications. The software implements Digital Rights Management and supports PDF, XHTML, and Flash-based content. Significantly, XHTML support is offered through the nonproprietary .epub extension--part of a major e-book standards initiative from the International Digital Publishing Forum. Digital Editions' DRM is proprietary. But nonDRMed .epub files can be read through programs developed by others, not just Adobe. The IDPF in the future intends to address DRM issues.

The DRM embedded in this software has changed significantly with the release of Digital Editions version 1.5 in May 2008. Digital publications can now be shared across multiple computers and mobile devices using your Adobe ID after a simple authorization process.

Windows and OS X versions of Adobe Digital Editions were released on June 19, 2007. The software requires version 9.0 of Adobe Flash Player. Adobe originally announced a Linux version would be published at the end of 2007 but later changed their mind. [1]. All promises of future versions have now been removed from the Adobe's official FAQ.

Yes, I agree with ahmadfahad.com! I'm going to submit my suggestion to change this and hopefully it will become more well-known. (That is, if no one else has edited it right before me, heh.) I love this application. It's extremely easy on the eyes and gives you a bookshelf so you can group all of your stories by author, title, or maybe just category! I personally have nothing but horror stories. ( I recommend Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk, by the way. )

I'm perfectly fine with the lack of customization, but that's just me. I'm not one to bother changing things around when all I'm doing is reading. I don't think there's a way to change .pdf file text anyways. I'm not too tech-savvy, heh.

As far as performance, the lag would kill me I didn't have a new computer...

Wakoopa dudes, why doesn't this software have an ICON? Anyway, I loved it at first, up until it ate up all the library settings I made, but all in all, its everything Adobe Reader lacks, plus candy to the eyes. As most Adobe Air Apps, high memory requirements, and could use some more customization options.
