a very handy tool if you work in project group or when you work on multiple
computers. it keeps all you files synced from the minute you turn it on. you can
even save files in a public folder to access online. very handy when you want to
show stuff to other ppl.
I personaly store all my current projects on it.
every thing in synced in a matter of seconds (especially when you are
working with small files like scripts).
My feelings about dropbox are mixed. On one hand, it works very well -- I
love how it silently keeps the folders synchronized with few errors. Like
magic, I have the files in multiple locations and my colleagues do, too.
On the other hand, you STILL can't indicate files to be backed up anywhere
but within the Dropbox folder. Dropbox is the ONLY backup solution I know that
hasn't implemented this yet. . .
The biggest strike against Dropbox for me, though, is the way sharing works,
considering the pricing scheme. When you share files it counts against ALL
accounts that are sharing the data. So if I and two colleagues are sharing 50
gigabytes of data at 100.00 per year per person, we're paying 300 dollars for 50
gigabytes. Whereas if we don't share, we're paying 100 dollars for 50
gigabytes.
It is only missing a few features such as P2P syncing optimizations and
selective syncing though it is already one of the best applications I have every
used.
Simply great! Automatically syncs and backups your most important files.
Great download/upload speed, the client software has a small footprint and is
very fast. 2GB online Storage for free!
The free dropbox is simply unbeatable. I can't find a reason as yet to bump
the usage into the pay-zone, but might in the future. This service saved my
arse during my latest school campaign after my HD crashed and the files were on
Dropbox.
simply the best

Dropbox is awesome on so many levels.

If you need invisible file sync among several computers — try Dropbox. Nice integration with Windows, Linux and Mac.

I register for the 50Mb six months ago!
It's really great to have all my files both on my PC (under linux ubunutu) and my laptop (under windows XP)...
