My favorite application for windows. WAMP server, that's light and easy to use. In one package you'll get fully working Apache, MySQL, PHP and PHPMyAdmin - no configuration is needed. IMHO older package 1.8 are better, than 2.x packages, because the newer ones causes some trouble in system and sometimes are really difficult to get working under some systems.
Why making your life difficult with Apache when u can make this work in few seconds. At least for home use...
