Emacs is garbage. Use a non-bloated text editor. Vi, Ed(lin), Edit.com, Notepad, or Notepad++.

Probably the best editor that I've ever used. I chose this over TextMate, you know! :)

Best editor ever. It takes some time to learn things but once you do, you're much more productive than before. If you know how to program, Emacs Lisp makes things a little better because you can enhance the environment.

Если вы любите хотите работать не в просто текстовом редакторе, а в самом лучшем редакторе на свете, откройте для себя GNU Emacs. И не пугайтесь сложностей!

The most powerful and extensible text editor.

My one and only editor. Once the commands have been "programmed" into the fingers you can't live without it. Every time I dive into the manual there's something new to add to the "finger registry".

The best in editing text there is, with the possible exception of vi. It truly is extensible, and self-documenting. Once you get over the initial learning curve, your productivity begins to soar. Emacs is a programmers multi-tool.
