Espresso is going to be the next hot text editor on the Mac platform. It has
a few beta-type issues but has a lot going for it. I love the tabless interface,
and think most apps using tabs should go to something like this. It's easier to
see which documents you are currently working on while still being able to
access any files in that project on the fly. I also love the support for
additional languages (although the packs aren't perfect yet) which really puts
this program not only as a Coda replacement, but a general text editor
replacement also. It lacks the power features of something like TextMate (right
now), but for web development and programming, this has become my new full time
editor.
One other feature that Coda needs to adopt ASAP is the support for multiple
servers in a project.
Since the app is still in beta testing and is feature incomplete it's hard to
write a review... From what I can see is that the official version will rock and
will be a great TextMate replacement!
