Flickr with a free account is useless. It starts living when you upgrade to a
pro account and it's absolutely worth the money. Full with features and a lot of
interaction with an very active community.
It's good for posting photos quickly and in a fun, "sharative" way,
it works instead of uploading pictures on a social network for example, as
people can comment pictures there too and it can be organized in albums. My only
problem with Flickr and the reason I don't use it, is the photo upload limit on
physical disk size and the bandwidth limit. So it's not a good way to upload
photos for quick posting around forums for example, or sharing with a large
amount of friends.

No me encanta, pero aun asi el servicio es bastante bueno.
Great for hosting but lousy for interaction with serious photographers due to a complete lack of photo critiquing support.
I host all my photos here. It is a great site and keeps photos at full resolution if you have a pro membership. Well worth the money.
I agree, Picasa web albums is defintely better and its also worth paying since they retain originals.
You don't need your own website anymore to host your pictures. It's really awesome, if you upload a lot you can buy a pro account.
Best image manager in the Web... bar none. I even use to back-up all my best pictures (No storage limit and full-resolution upload).
