In lieu of being able to use a stable version Linotype's FontExplorer X on Windows, FontExpert while not free, is pretty much everything i need in a font manager. Took a little while to get it JUST the way i like it, but was worth it. Several different ways to catalog fonts, from file based to groups and libraries. ALso has many useful tools for solving font issues and maintaining a large font library.
