An audio tool developed by Peter Pawlowski

foobar2000 is a freeware audio player for Windows developed by Peter Pawlowski, a former freelance contractor for Nullsoft.
Featuring a minimalist interface, it also boasts many features for metadata support and high-quality audio output. The theoretical maximum sampling rate and bit depth for audio output are both far in excess of the capacities of even professional-grade audio equipment. To maximize the audio fidelity of consumer-grade equipment, it provides noise shaping and dithering.
It features a number of official and third-party components which add many additional features. While the core is closed source, the author provides an extensive SDK under the BSD license. Since version 0.9, foobar2000 supports Windows 2000 and later releases only.
Features
* Audio formats supported natively: MP1, MP2, MP3, MP4, MPC, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC / Ogg FLAC, WavPack, WAV, AIFF, AU, SND, CDDA, WMA.
* More audio formats supported through optional components, official or third-party.
* Full unicode support.
* Customizable user interface layout (new in version 0.9.5).
* Advanced tagging capabilities.
* Support for ripping Audio CDs as well as transcoding all supported audio formats using the Converter component.
* ReplayGain support - both playback and calculation.
* Customizable keyboard shortcuts.

the best ever.
uses just a bit more memory than explorer process
1 word for it, pwnsome
It's the ultimate audio player!
nice user-friendly interface, customizable global shortcut keys and light even with hundreds of songs in a playlist tab. The downside is that Firefox's FoxyTunes addon seems to have issues with the current version of foobar, but this program is still the best.
I can't remember when was the last time I used winamp! All because of this player.
Can't live without it. Plays just about everything.
woa, this totally whips a llama's ass!
The power user's audio player. There nothing about this player that isn't customizable or extensible. Amazing plugin community and filetype support. Steep learning curve, not for people who like no-setup solutions like iTunes or WMP.
Love it, only use this from now on :)
Winamp who? Foobar2000 is my saviour.
Awesome music player!
winamp is terrible
goooo foobar
it's my fav
O melhor player de áudio que já usei, é muuuito leve e prático.
It's not bad. I am a spoiled Creative Media brat but yah. All in all i REALLY like it i mean layout wise and how is sounds. But i have to say that i dont like the usability i mean i cant double click on a song or an album and it play like i can in like Creative or Winamp. Then the play pause button i set up for it only works if the program is up...that makes it VERY hard to pause to hear someone in a hurry. So yah...
