The 3rd most popular audio/video manager on Windows

Foobar2000 is a freeware audio player for Windows developed by Peter Pawlowski, a former freelance contractor for Nullsoft. Featuring a minimalist interface, it also boasts many features for metadata support and high-quality audio output. The theoretical maximum sampling rate and bit depth for audio output are both far in excess of the capacities of even professional-grade audio equipment. To maximize the audio fidelity of consumer-grade equipment, it provides noise shaping and dithering.

It features a number of official and third-party components which add many additional features. While the core is closed source, the author provides an extensive SDK under the BSD license. Since version 0.9, foobar2000 supports Windows 2000 and later releases only.

Features: audio formats supported natively: MP1, MP2, MP3, MP4, MPC, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC / Ogg FLAC, WavPack, WAV, AIFF, AU, SND, CDDA, WMA; more audio formats supported through optional components, official or third-party; full unicode support; customizable user interface layout (new in version 0.9.5); advanced tagging capabilities; support for ripping Audio CDs as well as transcoding all supported audio formats using the Converter component; ReplayGain support - both playback and calculation; customizable keyboard shortcuts; open component architecture allowing third-party developers to extend functionality of the player.

Using it a lot of time, and probably it's best player I ever saw.
You can manage it how you want by adding needed components. But it's not the point,I don't use it because of cool interface, music sound better in him(of course if using correct stuff). So I recommend it to all who really want to enjoy what they are listen)))

@Mizi because nerds like that, which keeps them conscious about what's going on:) anyway, there ARE many foobar packs, if you search.

Who knows how to do this:
Every time I open music files in the explorer, I would like foobar to open them in the Default playlist instead of the playlist which was activated the last time I close foobar?

  • MIZI expert

Isn't there a foobar pack or something ... why copy the components manually?

You don't need bloated WinAmp that starts for dozens of seconds. This works fast and does its primary job... Playing damn music.

По мне так лучший проигрыватель музыки. Много настроик , читает большенство форматов , ну и наконец просто удобен.
