Laggy, can't record when not in OGL or D3D and doesn't compressing videos.
simple and easy to use to monitor frame rates in games
There's free utilities that do the same. ATi Tray Tools is an example, and i'm sure that there's also an Utility for nVIDIA cards with the same features.

no real competition, this is it as far as recording ingame footage goes, and now that vista/windows 7 uses gpu accelerated windows comp, you can record your desktop too.
