The 113th most popular social network tool on the Web
gdgt (like "gadget" -- or g-d-g-t) is a new kind of technology site -- a social gadget platform that enables you to connect with the community through your gadgets, and connect with your gadgets through the community. It's a place for you to engage with your devices and hang out with people who are as passionate about their gear as you are. gdgt is all about providing you with useful, contextual information -- both from here and around the web -- to help you get more out of the products you already own, as well as help you discover that next great device to add to your collection. We hope that gdgt will be the last personal technology destination you'll need, and the place to call home for you and your gadgets… More Edit

Good Gadget Blog & Database etc.. Should be useful in the future..
I had originally posted this:
"Interesting site, though I have a hard time figuring out what the purpose is, aside from building a shopping list for would-be thieves."
Since then, Dave Schumaker (Community Manager for GDGT) contacted me with the following follow-up, which I decided to share here for anyone else who may have the same concern:
"I'm not sure why you think it would be building a shopping list for thieves. We address these concerns in our FAQ: We take privacy very seriously, and when joining gdgt we do not require you provide or display any information about your overall location (like country / postal code). It might also go without saying, but we do not collect your home address or any exact geolocation data for a variety of reasons. That said, it's still up to you to protect your offline privacy, just as you would on any other site. Now, it's worth noting that if someone is already looking to commit a crime and already knows where you live, you've already got a much bigger issue at hand than what's on your gadget list. However, if you're still really concerned, making your gadget list is only one aspect of gdgt, and it's not required to use the site. There's still plenty of value to get out of gdgt without creating your list."
I like it a lot. Being able to look at catalogs of gadgets is awesome
very fun, i like it.
