Gmail, officially Google Mail in Germany and the United Kingdom, is a free POP3 and IMAP webmail service provided by Google. On April 1, 2004 the product began as an invitation-only beta release. On February 7, 2007 the beta version was opened to the general public. With an initial storage capacity of 1 GB (and growing, now over 7 GB), it drastically increased the standard for free storage. Today it's also possible to visit the site trough: http://www.gmail.com, although it redirects still to mail.google.com It also can be used as a SaaS-webmail for your domain with help of Google Apps.

Edit
I've been a gmail devotee since I was first introduced to it when it was invitation only in 2004. I can't see myself ever using another email app, it has everything I could ask for and so much more.
integracion, manejador de contactos, agenda que mas se puede decir google lo muestra todo para nuestro beneficio
>:D<
I looove Gmail, I have Google Apps set up so I can have the full Gmail experience while still having Email addresses on my own domains; there is truly nothing better.
amazing application. will never be able to go back to a client without a conversations feature or labels. Best email client by far!
Cool themes & interface
Performance is good, features are great, UI is awesome IMO and the price can't be beat, even with the 10GB of storage I've got extra to hold my photos on PicasaWeb.
ImpossÃvel viver sem!
Have tried most of the rest, this is truly the best. Best performance, largest amount of space and most features. Integration with Google Apps is great but could be better and can't wait for tight integration with Google Wave. Resistance seems to be futile!
Far and away the best online mail client. Ridiculous amount of features. Now, just make wave work seamlessly with it.
Simply love this email client. Would be perfect if it was a app like outlook though..
Want unlimited web space ?
you can use GmaiL ...
Very useful for checking emails outside.
And its spam filter is also powerful.
Free, simple, powerful
