Google Earth is a virtual globe program that was originally called Earth Viewer and was created by Keyhole, Inc. It maps the earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS over a 3D globe. It is available under three different licenses: Google Earth, a free version with limited functionality; Google Earth Plus, which includes a few more features; and Google Earth Professional, intended for commercial use.

Awesome app! Navigation takes a little getting used to but is amazing! I wish the premium version was more affordable!

Living just outside NYC, I find myself using Google Earth even more. I like to get a feel for where I'm going to walk/bike to, and this app has never let me down. I've been a major fan since it first came out, and I love how smooth it works with the iPhone/ipod Touch as well. I also love searching strange places, and searching for odd places to view. Hmm though, why is the industrial plant near me fuzzy? GOOGLE-STRANGENESS!

It's a great application, fact. Still I miss some features but there's a good possibility I just haven't found it. I used this to plan my bicycle trip, and it was very accurate.
