I did not expect much from this game, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's really easy to cover the basics, and the gameplay makes much sense. The build menu hes been redesigned and instead of a bulky panel, it's now a convenient, aesthetic right-click wheel. The windows, nicely transparent are modern and give that ancient-Rome feel at the same time. The rules of the game are simple, but not too simple: more than once you are encouraged to think, which doesn't happen very often these days, and the makers made sure you won't strain your brain. There are some cons, obviously, like the need to have one insula (which is quite large) per one workplace - you'd think such big building would fit more workers than needed to make a bakery going (especially if they're plebs, and by definition their needs, including the ones concerning space, aren't too high). The graphics are very eye-pleasing (even on slower computers and laptops), the music is standard, which is good: it doesn't take over but it's not unbearable, either.
Overall, it's a very nice release that really makes you fall in love, or at least become interested, from the very first clicks. Go buy it! It's money very well spent.
