GSview is a graphical interface for Ghostscript. Ghostscript is an interpreter for the PostScript page description language used by laser printers. For documents following the Adobe PostScript Document Structuring Conventions, GSview allows selected pages to be viewed or printed. GSview requires Ghostscript. GSview is available for Windows, OS/2 and Linux.

Needed to install this and ghostscript in order to review a few older mathematical papers that were only available in the ps file format. Still seems to be a stable program, even in the Vista environment - the old stuff still works!
I think, there isn't better open-source multi-platform pdf viewer then GhostScript. But GSView wants registration every launch. And interface is really awful.
Faster & lighter than adobe reader for sure!!
