Needs to be merged with http://wakoopa.com/software/heroes-of-newerth
The name of this game is Heroes of Newerth and should be linked to it.
I think my tracker isnt tracking this application.
I use often but it never displays on my page.
Why?
Merge with Heroes of Newerth
Awesome game. Best game for those who like DOTA style.
It is the best game on linux which I saw
Awesome, needs some features still though. Too bad it's so hard to achieve invites for friends as of now.
Great cross-platform game
I uninstalled HoN as I'm lame at this game. I have never played DoTA, so this was new to me. It is entertaining and fun, but for, what they like to call us, noobs there's just no place in this game. I played 12 matches, won 1 and there are so many good players with whom I just can't play. Graphics and colours looks good for me and overall appearance is nice.
I think this game will be popular.
DOTA is so dead when this game stars officially. It's in closed beta now and many improvements are to be made. It's with better graphics, better UI and server system... hope it won't cost much.
Not a bad game but I prefer the original DotA.
stupied game with bad colours
DotA done right
ZedBlue, ranking is one of the most stupid things ever for DotA and alike. Garena ladder and HoN PSR prove it.
Also, HoN tends to nerf things and make everything way simpler. Disables, healing, tactics and teamplay are not as useful here. At some points S2 reminds me of CCP (it's good when used wisely? nerf it into the oblivion!).
- Matchmaking. BS, private gaming was and is the best matchmaking system.
- Stat. We need skill and interesting games, not some artificial stats. Stats rarely tell anything about skill.
- VOIP. Skype, Ventrilo, TS. Built-in is usually turned off.
- Reconnection. Well, that is really nice and I wish WC3 implemented it.
- Map editor. Arguably nice. Still I don't expect a lot of balanced maps. Creating DotA variant is also easy, still DotA itself is so thought of that no variant is needed.
- Re-bindable hotkeys. DotA keys? Still it's not that good. I tend to use DotA hotkeys, not HoN.
- Leaver protection. Concede vote makes this protection useless. Instead of leaving they concede. Even when they can (and should) win.
- Client-server Netcode. Sorry, don't see any problem here. Though it's quite ok as a stupid motto.
- Modifications. Well, in two years it may become cool. If this games survives that far.
Lol, some people here don't have even the slightest idea about the game...
First of all, it is based on Warcraft's 3 DotA map. It has no relation with Demigod and such failing games.
It's not a casual but an enhanced version of DotA.
Gameplay improvements and engine advantages:
-Stat tracking
-Matchmaking system
-Ladder rankings
-Built in VOIP
-Game reconnection
-Custom map editor
-Re-bindable hotkeys
-Leaver protection
-Client-server Netcode
-Ability to add modifications (not hacks)
Most of them where major problems that couldn't be solved in DotA. Also, it has much better graphics, better pre-game and of course in-game organization.
Finally, remember that is in beta-testing stage, so they are still working on debugging and game enhancements.
