Hinterland

This is an unusual game, as it combines elements from the traditional hack-and-slash action RPG with the resource management and base-building of an RTS or city-building sim. What's remarkable is that it works quite well. While the graphics and interface don't have the polish you'd expect from a larger studio, the gameplay is solid and tons of fun. The styles of play are diverse and the worlds can be quite expansive, and you can spend many hours exploring, looting, and building your city. There is a demo available at Greenhouse if you want to check it out yourself, and I definitely recommend that you do.
