HotSync is the process of synchronizing information between your Palm handheld and your desktop computer. A HotSync operation does many things: * Keeps your Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Memos, and third-party data current and in sync between your handheld and your PC or Mac * Installs new applications on your handheld * Transfers photos, music and other media to your handheld * Saves your settings and preferences. In the case of smartphones, this includes call history, speed dials and favorites. This information is backed up on your desktop computer when you synchronize. It does the job. I would like a little more function and form to the program. It is also a memory hog.
Palm Sync
This does not work well on my machine. Gives an error everytime I sync. That said, I continue to use it as there's no alternative to syncing my centro and my pc. Wish I had an exchange server.
I couldn't live without my Palm being sync-ed with my pc. Happened to me more twice, and lost important data :'(. This one may be slow, but at least most of my stuff are stored on my pc.
