This annoying application is installed within the mammoth suite of HP Drivers. Not settling with the inbuilt mechanism of adding devices via the System preferences in OSX HP have kindly added a superfluous widget. It works, but why doesn't it just integrate properly into mac OSX? Why, because they want to push their brand all the time. So no points for subtlety.
