I'm still wondering how it is possible a site like this has grown into the
largest social community website for the Netherlands, it looks ugly, isn't user
friendly at all like they never heard of usability. However there is one thing
there doing well and that's the ability to be connected to everyone within your
environment, and I do believe that when they give the site a whole new update so
that it looks beter and is user friendly they may become a key player in the
international social community market.
The only reason I use it is because a lot of my friends use it. It has some
nice features, but nothing unique. Loading a normal page take for ever, and the
interface looks nice but doesn't work in Safari. Sometimes it's really hard to
find some features you used last time. Also, they offer kind of a 'pro'-account
for too much money.
It's the Dutch Facebook. Slow connections make the experience less enjoyable.
Great for finding old schoolmates and being up to date with your friends :-)
@flamelab: I really agree with you about the performance, but all of my
friends are dutch and on Hyves so i have no other option. Perfomance problems
could be increased by huge amounts of javascript :-(
Yeah, and it's really usefull because almost all of my friends use it. I've
also tried Myspace but I couldn't get along with the interface design. But Hyves
is much more user-friendly. I hope it will become more popular outside the
Netherlands too someday.

Nothing special but very awesome for keeping in touch with friends you never really see anymore.
UI still sucks, but it IS getting better.

Nice site, but INCREADIBLY slow. And I hate the way you have to post images in your blog.
