Dell XPS fan controller|monitor
I love this app, it's the best for Dell notebooks
Have a older Dell Laptop(up to the E15/1705)?
You will love this app!
You can control fan speeds, set the fans to kick in at a certain temp for CPU, GPU, Chipset(I assume the Northbridge) RAM and HDD at a selectable speed.
And if you have a 8xxx nvidia card, just set the fans to max and there you have it, and you don't need to update your BIOS.
If you got dell with Nvidia timebomb in it...then you'll grow to love this application. Controls fans and keeps your laptop from turning into a frying pan.
I wish they'd update the GUI for XPS systems.
a essential App for Dell Laptops
My Dell Precision 490 has a memory fan that sounds like it's stuck on maximum the whole time which makes it sound like a small hurricane is blowing through the office. Using this utility it the only way to slow the fans down to a sensible speed. Unfortunately my mouse lurches about when the automatic temperature control is turned on. According to I8K's FAQ, a bios update should solve this problem, but seeing as I'm using the 490's latest bios, I'm out of options.
