I use it to lock my computer when I'm away so nobody can touch it. It even allows you to trigger the mac when you're moving the laptop physically and send you a picture of the guy that lifted it up. As schrader pointed out it does only make the main screen black when you lock it and no other screens.

Locks my Mac when I'm not there. But somehow only locks the main screen — everything else is still visible.
But you can't interact with anything without triggering loud alarm. ;-)
