I use IBus whenever I type Japanese, may it be in OpenOffice, EVE Online or any other application.
In Ubuntu 9.10, SCIM has been replaced by IBus, which I'm very pleased with, as it performs better and is more reliable.
I've only had a minor problem so far, which involves Wine being unable to detect IBus, IF the tool bar is hidden. This is most likely a Wine issue, and not with IBus.
It's great, impressive, beautiful, intelligent and customizable!!
- -'' I've used it to type Chinese with OO.o.It's really compatible. In Ubutu I've replaced SCIM with IBus, I thinks it's better.
Addition : It's have some problem with some game like supertux that I have to push Ctrl and Space.. and tux's stuckling..
Anyway it's not a serious problem..
