I love iMovie HD, and still use it. Even for professional videos, if it was only a one-camera shoot, there is a good chance I'll be using iMovie instead of Final Cut to edit it. I hate the new version of iMovie and only use it to upload a movie to MobileMe.
Apple no longer supports installing iMovie HD, so on a new Snow Leopard machine, you have to un-install iLife '09 (if you have it installed), install iLife '08, install the iMovie HD 6.0.2 for iLife '08 download that used to be available on Apple's website, and then install iLife '09. It's a pain in the ass, but it's well worth it to keep this excellent video editor.
好用的视频处理软件~
Much better than the new iMovie. Even without the Share to YouTube features.
iMovie HD (6) also has better and more transitions and effects without having to pay extra money...
And the layout and UI for iMovie '08 is a lot more complex
With iMovie '08 you can edit a lot faster, but there is a downside to it.. iMovie '06 has better video encoding than '08.. It also lets you edit in a more old-style fashion, which includes doing your best to make frame by frame cuts..
much better than '08 edition, not as simplified
much better than the new one
You can use this to make nice video's even when you're a noob in editing. Good app to impress potential switchers.
Bad video quality... slower than the new version.
