The newest version of iMovie not only runs great on my MBP (Mid-2007) but it
also the best version yet. Adding nearly all the features of iMovie HD back into
the program, it keeps the simplicity of iMovie 08. They also added in some brand
new stuff like the precision editor, custom animated titles, and even video
stabilization. The only drawback is that plugin support is nonexistant, so you
are stuck with what the program does out of the box. Also a minor complaint that
YouTube made it filesize upload limit bigger (presumably for HD material) but
iMovie still thinks it's only 100MB. Nothing a simple update won't fix, but
still a pain if you make a 8-10 minute video in HD/Half-HD you want to upload.
Terrific software and worth it's money in simplicity but powerfulness.
