Disqus failed to install, even a programmer over there told me to give up on it. So I moved on to Intense Debate and found it easy to install and maintain. The WP plugin is kinda wonky - sometimes I have to approve a comment multiple times.
This is by far the most sophisticated free commenting tool out there. Its very responsive. It has integrated Akismet spam blogging. Using this my blog comments section came alive with discussion.

Found this to be easier to integrate into WordPress than Disqus.

IntenseDebate offers website (blog) owners tools to mannage their comments/discussions in an very extended way. For me it works smoothly, integrates well with my site, I'm a fan :-)
