I'll just say now that I hate Steve Jobs with all my soul. That being said,
iTunes 8 has done a fair job of fixing problems I've had with iTunes since its
creation. It's "clean" interface still puzzles me, even moreso now
that importing settings have been moved among other things, and iTunes download
settings have been removed completely (It's nice to be able to download a HD
movie, but I'd like a lower quality version when my hard drive is nearly full).
I've yet to play around with Genius, since I'm now converting my library of
nearly 8000 songs from wma just for itunes (another point; GIVE ME SOME PLUGINS
DAMMIT!) And while it certainly does things better than any other free media
player, it takes more resources to do so, making it a mixed blessing. The music
library is much more intuitive than the previous "everything crowded into
one hard to read list of songs" setup, and for that reason and all iTunes
Store's music now being DRM-free (about damn time) I will be moving my music
into this program, until I can find something to entice me away.
