Misses out on a few things like tables. Overwrites custom code in web pages (or at least I haven't yet learned how to put in my own html and retain it).
Makes really awesome drag and drop web pages though with great effects. Easy to use and intuitive - very much like using a DTP program. For a novice this is brilliant! The best out there. For intermediate and above is limiting but still very fast and dirty.
easy using, easy publishing and editing web sites.. an cool app.
Makes spiffy looking web pages and works well with the I-apps. Nice for ease of use.
As a part of the Ilife package, included with all macs, it is hard to argue the value here. Integrated with Mobile me, getting a website set up has never been easier. I have recently stepped away from it though. I am weighing another paid option these days, and enjoying the flexibility of it. I web is tied to the Iweb program, and carrying it to another platform at this time would be at best very cumbersome.
I'd like to see some real development on this software cause I think it has great potential. It has recently seen little attention from apple since the 08 updates. I am concerned that it's getting long in the tooth for apple. Hope they continue to grow and expand it's abilities.
Basically, great for free. Intermediate programers will find this excellent. The problem is that if one adapts code on pages manually it gets over-ridden. However, easy learning curve.
Great application, simple to use but needs to have more themes and price needs to come down.
Great software for a novice. A bit of a hassle to incorporate SEO and higher level functionality.
I published my first real web site 3 weeks ago using iWeb. I now have 4 sites, over 45 pages, over 3 GB. This is fantastic software. ANYONE with basic computer skills can get a nice looking, sophisticated site using little more than page layout and design skills.
By the time users begin to hit their head against the capability ceiling of iWeb they will be well positioned to move up to the highest level development tools.
Nice layout and it makes great web pages but thins kind of software makes it hard to update your site. If you are doing things like blogging or simple web sites use wordpress or something like that.
Very nice, but I prefer homegrown HTML.
poor copy of Frontpage:)
Nice tool, but good only for making simple homepage.
great for making a basic website
I web gets some hard knocks out there, but for those of us who want quick simple, and still reasonably customizable without having to be a pro and still pull off a decent site, it works for me.
Ok for a one-two page site, but it sure does take a lot of control away. Good for non coders I guess.
