JkDefrag is a disk defragmenter and optimizer for Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/2008/X64. Completely automatic and very easy to use, fast, low overhead, with several optimization strategies, and can handle floppies, USB disks, memory sticks, and anything else that looks like a disk to Windows. Included are a Windows version, a commandline version (for scheduling by the task scheduler or for use from administrator scripts), a screensaver version, a DLL library (for use from programming languages), versions for Windows X64, and the complete sources.

I like using this as an alternative. And it's Open source :D
simple, perfect
Nice simple thing. recommended
I used it for years and this is without any doubt one of the best defragmenter available. It's straightforward and lightweight and works fine.
Nonetheless, I did switched recently to IObit SmartDefrag, and I do prefer it to JKD besides its higher usage of system resources.
its fast to load. no ui. no installs. just starts up and does its thing. just run and walk away. comes with gui, cli and even 2 types of screensaver options. and best of all, its free!
One of the best in its kind!
The best defragger that it out there. point.
and it is GPL!
simple, fast, reliable.
Just migrated from IOBit SD to JkDefrag. Well, what more can I say? It's absolutely better!
Excellent defragmenter! I have been using it for years as my screen saver and it keeps my system running better than Windows standard defrag, or any of the expensive programs that I've purchased (i.e., Diskkeeper)
An awesome little defragmenter.....works better than Windows, or any of the other apps.
I like this program and Defraggler by Piriform the best of the free ones out there.
Very fast, stable, and works great as a screensaver for optimizing. Defrags better than Diskeeper and PerfectDisk for me.
Lovely to use an an screensaver on Vista.
