Perhaps the portable version has a smaller footprint?
Anyhoo - I use Keepass on a thumb drive and love it - would be great if it could sync with a Palm Pre, similar to SplashID.
I don't see why people re-pack apps into portable wrappers (paf) when they are natively portable to begin with.
The Keepass site says you can just unzip the zip package and copy it to a USB device without installation. It doesn't explicitly create any registry entries nor user directory folders.
