love it
Bit pricey but I really like this editor. It's got a lot of features in it that are really useful. My main problems with it is that it can be a little sluggish at refreshing sometimes (even on a quad core mac) and it's a bit challenging to find stuff using the interface. It would really help if they had a spotlight type of addon for it.
A great, really great editor, I would LOVE it so much if it didn't suck so much on performance and if it didn't crash at least once daily. :-(
I'd just say: I love it.
phpDesigner is better (in my opinion)
Komodo Edit is the ONLY text editor which is pleasing to use on windows and looks professionally done. I generally code Ruby in this..
I'm working on heavily big frameworks in PHP, stylesheets in CSS, backends in javascript or even my own specifications.
What did I use to do all of it: ActiveState Komodo IDE.
This is probably my favorite fully-featured IDE for when I'm doing web development with Python or PHP. It's code completion is outstanding for Python in particular. Also, it has a very generous license allowing one user to install it on unlimited machines. The fact that it works on Windows, Mac and Linux is great if you do as much jumping between computers as I do. I just wish it had snippets like TextMate. When I'm not using Komodo, I fall back to using Vi.
Using Komodo Edit for PHP/XHTML/JS/CSS. Definitely, I'm in love. Previously I was coding in Aptana and Eclipse. But when I realized that Aptana crashes too many times, I had to switch to something else. Was looking for something clean, smooth, with code completion, suggestions (for own classes and builded in php) and color schemes. And I was worried if I could find some free software. And... there it is - Komodo Edit.
If someone would like to see, how it looks in Mac OS X Leopard: http://a2.s3.quickshareit.com/obrazek14b92b.jpg
Just started using this and python. It is helping me learn the whitespace rules...sheesh.
A good IDE for web development (I use Komodo IDE), with lotst of helpfull features. The only disadvantage is the price. I haven't upgraded to 5 yet, since it will set me back a lot of money. Looking at Netbeans...
I've just started using Komodo. It's great on local files, especially for web programming. I haven't tried extending it, but it seems quite flexible and expendable with JavaScript.
Making coding so much easier.
I love komodo
Ondrejd is correct. I use Edit which is free, but it's listed as the IDE which costs money (albeit not a fortune)! I'd like read people's experiences with the IDE specificly. I use Edit mainly for PHP / MySQL development and just love the way your own classes and methods get code completion and code hints. It's a great asset when coding a larger project.
