Tlen.pl is a free-of-charge Polish instant messaging service. It is currently the second most popular utility for instant messaging in Poland after Gadu-Gadu, with which it is (almost) fully compatible. By April 2008 there were more than 1 500 000 registered users and 780 000 real users of Tlen.pl. Since version 7 Tlen is available on Linux and Mac OS X. The communication protocol is based on open source jabber code, but it was modified significantly, making it incompatible with generic XMPP clients and servers. Among other features, Tlen.pl allows for voice chats, SMS sending and video conferences. The versions later than 4.0 allow for creation and usage of plugins. Since then more than 130 plugins have been created by the community. Tlen is also integrated with the o2.pl mail system, which allows users to use mail in four domains: o2.pl, tlen.pl, go2.pl and prokonto.pl. It is possible to easily access the mail system from the application. Tlen.pl automatically checks the user's account and if there is any new mail, it shows a notification on their screen. It is also possible to connect to Tlen.pl network using Java-based web application TlenJava on Tlen.pl homepage. Since version 6.0.1.7 Tlen has included the Tlenofon plugin, which enables VoIP functionality in the client. Tlen had it's dark ages, but for me it's the best communicator for windows.

Nadszedł czas dotlenić jabłuszka i pingwinki. ;-) Jest już (od dłuższego czasu) Tlen 7 dla Mac OSX, oraz Linuksa... czekamy na wersję Windowsową. :) Przepisanie całego kodu od nowa jest tym czego Tlen potrzebował już od bardzo dawna. Nic dziwnego, że 6-ka tak często łapie zwiechy, skoro od wielu wersji dodawane są tylko nowe funkcje... 7-ka rozwiązuje ten problem, a aktualne wersje testowe są znacznie stabilniejsze, niż najnowsza 6-ka.
Jak na mnie, nie jest zły, ma wad od cholery, szczególnie najnowsza wersja. Przez nią musiałem poszukać nowego komunikatora.
Dobry. Polski. Jak wspomniał s!n- otwarcie na jabbera byłoby ze wszech miar wskazane.
