LaTale is a 2D side-scrolling online game developed by Actoz Soft. Gamers take the role of adventurers in a mythological fantasy world.
It was launched in South Korea in February 2006 where it was well received. In February 2007, Actoz entered into an agreement with Chinese game operator Shanda to open a server in mainland China.[1] In March 18, 2008 OGPlanet signed a contract with Actoz Soft to bring LaTale to North America.

There are several classes and different ways to play those classes. The starter classes are warriors (offense), knights (defense), mages (magic), and explorer(ranged).
Warriors may use spears or 2-handed swords. They can advance to Warlord which continues use of these equips, or change to bladers for dual-wielding action!
Knights may use one handed sword, knuckles, or a mace. They may advance to templar knights that emphasize defense and continue use of one handed sword and mace or to a guardian that specializes in knuckles.
Mages may use staffs or daggers. They advance to sorcerer which continues use of whatever element you chose (or all of them if you choose that, too!), or bard which is a support guitar-wielding class!
Explorers may use bows, crossbows, or daggers. They can transfer into treasure hunters which specialize in .. hunting treasure and getting rich and critical damage. You may also change into a gunslinger for dual gun-wielding speed action.
The graphics are not TOO cutesy while still remaining easy on the eyes. It may look like a 'Maplestory clone', but I advise you .. it is its' own game.

I left a review before, but I changed my opinion of this game.
I really love it, and it is better than Maplestory - and the astro prices are actually fair (if you already had a pet, you can even keep it alive with items from in-game).
However, in the second job for every job except for bard, gunslinger, and blader have the same skills as the first job only stronger. Who wants to use the same skills forever? Lame.
Also yes, it is laggy as pie now. It didn't lag before but I was playing at strange hours.
Also also, I'm not a fan of ogplanet. The first time I contacted them with a problem, they didn't answer it directly. The second time I mentioned astros and low and behold - they're all ears!
Much better than maple, but I have to say it is slightly becoming MS 2.
All this astro stuff.. ;/
