A timeline can be looked upon as a personal diary that started on the day you were born and continues till today. Each memorable event in your life gets on to the timeline on a particular time slot, capturing your entire life just like a movie. The interesting part is that this personal diary has a social angle to it. So every post that you add to your timeline also automatically appears on the timelines of your friends and co-workers if you add them as participants to the post. That is not all - you can link your post to pretty much anything that is important to you, be it your sports car, your college, your city, your favorite rock band and have your post appear on their timelines.
