Level 50 Captain here, love the game.
Normally i really dont like these games, but been playing this one a while and its becomming real fun. Diddn't got that feeling playing WoW.
Impressive game, althou it looks a WoW rip, it has many original features. Veeeeery nice game ;)
Looks good so far, hopefully in time it will be as smooth and polished as WoW is today.
Launched this month, LOTRO isn't really senior enough to be reviewed yet as far as MMORPGs go. Graphics are adequate, the client is ok but the interface could offer more - it's leaning on WoW but lacking most of the good stuff from there, such as customization.
Gameplay is extremely quest-heavy, with traditional "grinding" giving you much less experience. There is a vast amount of quests to choose from, plus an extending series of story quests that interweave with the book and offer short video cutscenes. Most quests are well written but still boil down to the usual types (kill 5 snails, fetch 3 carrots, take this letter to Bob, etc.).
Definitely worth a look for fans of the book/movie.
