I can't live without this little app. This is the first thing I install on a fresh Mac computer. Their license now allows unlimited installation into multiple Macs and they are being sold with a discount here: http://www.onefingerdiscount.com/ or straight to the store - https://mailplaneapp.com/store/?coupon=OneFingerDiscount.

I loved MailPlane as i do have multiple gmail email accounts. Very easy to switch between accounts. Never have to worry about opening a browser again. Attaching an image is just drag and drop.

GMail has a great interface, but no matter how speedy or automatic or however many other features they include, it's still a webapp. Mailplane makes GMail a first class citizen amongst other applications, so you can click on mail links, email documents, or do anything you can normally do with a "real" email application (and no number of extensions or utilities will accomplish)

It's an expensive software that is more of a luxury that a "must-have". It does what it says it does which is allow you to access multiple Gmail accounts. I'm happy with it.

I recently stopped using Mailplane due to wanting more speed. Mailplane is an awesome bit of software in that Google's online Gmail interface is nigh-on the best UI for email around. My problem is that when new mail comes in, you have to wait for Gmail to load and after a while the waiting gets somewhat annoying when all you want to do is quickly read a message you've received. Similarly, the notifier doesn't always update when you've read a message and needs manually refreshing. Despite these problems though, if you can't quite tear yourself away from the web UI, Mailplane makes the experience far more seamless than using fluid on its own or simply leaving a browser tab open.

A brilliant application when you more than one Gmail or Google Apps account.
Fast switching between account and nice drag'n'drop support.

I use MailPlane daily -- I like the fast switching between my Google Apps accounts and I love the fact it's standalone and I don't have to mess around with mail in my browser. I like the growl notifications that pop up letting me know (and read) about new mail. I like how the programmers have made things easy (e.g. uploading a file? Just drag it into MailPlane, they do the rest. No need to browse-open-search etc.) Download the trial, check it out and enjoy.

For anyone who loves Gmail but doesn't think Google Desktop does the job MailPlane is the answer. On a MAC you get the features of MAC mail because it keeps your unread count and Gmail is accessible via your desktop. Absolutely, a must have for any MAC user.
