… More EditMass Effect is set in the year 2183 AD. Thirty-five years prior, humanity discovered a cache of technology built by an advanced but long-extinct race called the Protheans. Studying and adapting this technology, humankind has managed to break free of the solar system and has established numerous colonies and encountered various extraterrestrial species within the Milky Way galaxy. Utilizing alien artifacts known as "Mass Relays", the various space-faring species are able to travel instantly across vast stretches of the galaxy.
You play the role of Commander Shepard, a veteran soldier who's appearance, gender and back story can be customised by the player. Your character is always accompanied by two additional characters, providing support during battles and contributing to dialogue.
Gameplay includes lots of character interaction and dialogue choices. The combat interface is much like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic with a blended live-action/turn-based type of feel.

but short as hell
Most addictive Sci-fi RPG i've played.
Awesome game, nice storyline - if maybe a bit short. But very replayable :)
I have played it several times ! it's really fantastic.
Can't believe I didn't play this earlier. Has a very Deus Ex-ish vibe to it, if a little more sci-fi. Really enjoyed it, but it was too short for me. :(

A verry good game that brings RPG and FPS forward.
You just get caught in the story because its so fun to play.

It's a great game but few basic things being omitted really put it down. I.e. telling the player where to go for a mission? Especially when they haven't played for a while.
