The 20th most popular system tool on Mac OS X
Mathematica is a computer program used widely in scientific, engineering and mathematical fields. It is mainly known as a computer algebra system, but it has various other features for technical computing. It was originally conceived by Stephen Wolfram and developed by a team of mathematicians and programmers that he assembled and led. It is developed by Wolfram Research of Champaign, Illinois.… More Edit

A powerful computer algebra system but it also requires a bit more horsepower than other CAS programs. I tend to only use it when I need to do 3D graphing. Otherwise I use maxima, a command line CAS that is very fast but lacks some of the advanced graphing tools of Mathematica.
I agree, this is the most beautiful piece of analytical software ever.
Excellent application for analytical mathematical manipulations; decent for numerical work; and very good for visualization. Pricing is OK, specially for students, but general licensing scheme can be sometimes annoying. An alternative is Maple, with less features but sometimes more efficient in computations.
This is just the most beautiful math's app I've ever seen. Wolfram, I love you.
Magnifica herramienta
An excellent piece of software. Especially when you just need to hash a tough problem in linear algebra or diff eq real quick.
a very good scientific calculating/analysis software
Love it! But it is so powerful, I still have only surfaced it...
You can do pretty much everything with it.
Mathematica is a great software! Very good at symbolic computation. And extremely versatile and powerful.
