very good, but apparently is abandonware, some features it had but don't
seems to work anymore are subtitles search for example. would be nice if it
could get subtitles automatically, or the imdb rank, or plot...
If you just want something that plays videos without all of the other
garbage, this is the player for you. Works smoothly with all video codecs,
including realtime alternative and quicktime alternative (for those of us who
hate both of those products). Also has support for subtitles and pretty much
anything that you would want. Very basic, very small memory footprint.
Awesome. You can play anything in it, even Real and Quicktime files with the
Real Alternative and QT Alternative codecs, plus you can make manual adjustments
to the aspect ratio. Also, so far it seems to be the only media player I've
found that outputs 5.1 Dolby or DTS through my digital coaxial out.
With ffdshow installed, MPC will play anything. Two features I like are
frame-at-a-time advance and being able to hide or show every component in the
UI, leaving just the video showing or with all the controls around it.
Versatile and minimal at the same time. I am also not scared that it is
reporting what I am watching unlike the irritating Windows Media Players
question "Automatically acquire license for content...". It also
doesn't add any useless context menu options in Windows Explorer.
you can open DVD's with this application by opening the .ifo file or just use
ctrl+D. You can even record TV for that matter.
I like this appl. very much.
fucking great. but i would like support for aiff. also comes out with the K-Lite Codec Pack, and that codec pack + MPC owns VLC and all, I think.
Ligth, convinient, powerful, eaier to use than VLC. Can read every kind of movie format : qt, rm, flv...

I find it runs easier than VLC.
Clasic > all
Media Player Classic with FFDShow and Real/Quicktime alternatives all you'll ever need to play virtually any common video file.
