With Mediamonkey you can organize music and edit tags in your audio library. This powerful, intuitive tool can also search online for tags, album art and other metadata and easily save these in the files. MediaMonkey can play MP3s and other audio formats, record CDs into OGG, MP3, FLAC and WMA files, convert MP3s, OGG, FLAC and WMA files into other formats, create playlists and music mixes, synchronize with iPods/MP3 players (converting tracks on-the-fly), etc. etc.

just me personal favourite media player, chock full of features and highly scriptable - with a massive following of script writers doing awesome things.

my top 3 little known about features (possibly with the use of SCRIPTS)
    1. Convert between formats very easily
    2. Auto-generate playlists from last.fm based on currently playing track
    3. Auto-rates your music as you listen to it

Superb free app. Love its looks, how simple it is to tag and rate files, and how you can choose to save all info including cover images etc in the id3-tag. The "auto-tag from web" is super nice, and also the many different filters like "last 50 played", "top rated" etc etc.

I'm a big fan of mediamonkey, and put it right up there at the top of the pile for music managers. It's got a fantastic auto tag feature that really saves me time with my "dubious" files.

MediaMonkey is a great Audio (no video :( ) player for Windows. I use it to manage and tag my mp3 collection, and to download podcasts. MediaMonkey is actively developed so it will only get better with time.

Pretty good but I still prefer Winamp really.

Maybe I've not used it enough.

I gave MediaMonkey 3 a shot today, after a successful trial in VMware Workstation last night. The reason I tried MM3 was, it being the first media player I heard that can automatically rename files and move them immediately after renaming tags. This behavior is not enabled by default however. I added the my proper iTunes managed 19910 tracks to MM3 and noticed

    1. tracks getting moved. For example a song belonged to AC/DC artist folder moved into a AC-DC artist folder
    2. tracks getting renamed (variant 1). For example 1-03 Secrets.mp3 renamed to 03 Secrets.mp3. I realized MM3 did not by default use the DiscCount tag to rename files.
    3. tracks getting renamed (variant 2). For example "07 What is Love_.mp3" which has the Name tag as "What is Love?" renamed to just "07 What is Love.mp3". iTunes used underscore for illegal characters but MM3 just did not include them at all.

All this damage was done without me even enabling Automatically organize files. I understand this behavior (such as using underscore for illegal characters) can be customized using the MM3 ini file. However by default doing such damage is certainly undesired.

I noticed another disastrous thing happening. A bunch of files with the AlbumArtist\Album\Track structure were moved into the AlbumArtist folder "AC/DC". I am really not sure how this happened but it did. I immediately terminated the process, uninstalled the piece of crapshit.

Lesson learnt to have only one music manager.

I managed to get everything back to normal with the help of Synchroclean® using iTSfv.

Excellent tool not just for listening to music but also for organising your collection. I've tried pretty much every other windows media player and none can beat this. Well worth the (lifetime) license fee!

So much better than WMP or Itunes. I only wish it would play .midi's.

My favorite audio player for Windows. I haven't found a replacement for Amarok until I ran into MediaMonkey. I love it and bought a licence today.

This is a great program for organizing music, adding tags and fixing ID3 information on files. I thought the search function was a little lacking, and for playing music I would still prefer winamp. Mediamonkey uses winamp plugins though, and if I can get it to do all the things my winamp can do I'll probably switch over.

Greatest software to manage your music collection, no matter how big it is. Easiest way to update your music files' metadata and incredibly customizable with the myriad of scripts developed by the MediaMonkey community.
