completely pointless to geeks and nerds like me but if ALL your friends have it it makes allot of compatibility problems to be using digsby instead of the actuall software so eventually you will give in and just download it.

simple and effective. there is no competition with other programs in this category, imho.
The only messenger I use, I don't really like the UI, and it's kinda slow too. Good messenger, make sure you've installed Live Plus too though.

Windows Live Messenger has to be my favorite instant messaging program out there. It blows AIM and Yahoo out of the water.
